Entrance to Transition to Christianity: Art of Late Antiquity, 3rd - 7th Century Art

New York is Building...Again

(West Side, New York, NY)
While it's heart-warming to see things like this, sadly, new projects like this are rarities in a city that once boasted the world's highest skyscrapers and  claimed the symbol of American Dream.

A Forked Road

Choices of Life (photo credit: Harold Davis)
Everyday life presents us with opportunities.  Everyday life also takes opportunities away from us.  I was  reminded of this simple wisdom once again today, as I sat in my study on this beautiful later winter day, listening to the mechanical ticking sound of two clocks near me, augmented in clarity and amplitude by  tranquility surrounding me.

Yesterday's news was a much-needed dose of excitement to a local community.  It is a miracle. (incomplete)

Light Illuminates, Shadow Defines.

Anteior Median and Anterior Lateral Eyes of an Adult Female Phidippus putnam Jumping Spider

Very wonderful, inspiring photographs by this photographer!  His photo gear is laughably simple if not shabby, but, his works, admirably impressive.  His fascination with the little bug world, as seen in his YouTube clip, and his enormous patience and success are equally awe-provoking.

This little park is located close to 7th Avenue (between 6th and 7th Ave.). The park, formed on a narrow piece of lot between surrounding high rises, has a waterfall wall partitioning the east and west side and a glass tube passage way connecting 47th and 48th streets.

A Cancer Survivor's life in all its moods and tones

"Long before Flickr, fine-art photographer Jeff Harris began taking one self-portrait a day and posting it on his website.  Thirteen years later, the project captures the cancer survivor's life in all its moods and tones." (TIME January 16, 2012)
