灿烂高瓴

“九一一”那天去了趟曼哈顿下城。在World Finance Center（WFC）大楼里，无意中看到了美国画家Craig McPherson在American Express楼层前厅中的大型壁画。画中初升日光下大教堂，让我想起了波斯诗人哈菲兹《鲁拜集》的开篇：

醒呀!太阳驱散了群星,  (Wake! For the sun, who scatter'd into flight)

暗夜从空中逃遁,  (The Stars before him from the Field of Night,)

灿烂的金箭,  (Drives Night along with them from Heav'n,and strikes)

射中了苏丹的高瓴. (The Sultan's Turret with a Shaft of Light. )
